(OrganicJar) So I have to admit I’m a typical guy when it comes to facials and face masks…I don’t do them. Not because I think it’s a ‘girly’ thing to do, I just never had a moment where I thought hmmm, maybe I’ll relax with a face mask tonight.
However when my friend Nicole said she had an amazing all natural and organic avocado butter mask recipe I thought, hmmm, why not. To my utter surprise it was an excellent experience that left me wondering…why had I not been doing these masks before?! So I wanted to share this recipe with all of you. It’s quick, all natural, organic, and left my skin glowing for days.
Avocado Butter Mask:
- 1 Ripe Avocado, peeled and pitted
- 1 Egg Yolk
- 2 tablespoons of Honey
- 1 tablespoon of Evening Primrose Oil
- 1 teaspoon of Yogurt
- Puree all the ingredients in a blender.
- Place a warm washcloth over your face for 60 seconds to prep the skin.
- Apply a thin layer of mask evenly to face and leave on for 10-20 minutes.
- Gently wipe off the mask with a moist cloth.
- *Makes 1/2 cup.
Don’t forget…any left over mask can also be used on hands, feet, back, elbows, knees and any other rough spots or problem areas that need pampering.
Why is Avocado Amazing for the Skin?
With it’s high fat content and the rich consistency of the flesh and oil, avocados are an excellent choice as a moisturizer for the skin. Avocado penetrates the skin deeply and removes the dead skin cells. It helps remove the oil on your skin, unclog your pores and reduce the inflammation caused by acne.
