In Ayurvedic medicine licorice root (Yashti Madhu) is used against myopia at one teaspoonful twice per day. However it is a highly toxic plant and other saponin-containing plants are far safer to use. I've had significant reversal of my myopia with sarsaparilla root and butcher's broom root after one year of daily use. Ginseng root is another plant that contains saponins. Saponins help reverse myopia because they are very strong iron chelators. In myopic eyes there is accumulation of free iron as a result of very high level of oxidative stress (such as after taking pharmaceutical drugs).

These are minor components.

Super Foods to me relate to grocery replacements.

In other words, most health challenges arise from insufficient hydration and nutrition.

I think more in terms of foods like Chocolate Bliss & Fiesta Mole where people intake very few calories and their weight, energy & mood remain rock solid.

Adding in the herbs/flowers/spices you mention above is great and best long-term health effect tend to track quality of groceries a person intakes.

Fantastic article - I was expecting to read about the more "hyped" up ones, like goji, acai, blue-green algae, etc.. I'm glad you wrote about these.
