10 Health Benefits of Drinking Black Tea:
- Studies continue to show that tea is very good for you, and has some amazing health properties that cannot be ignored.
- Black teas contain antioxidants which prevent the damage caused by free radicals which can lead to numerous diseases.
- Drinking black teas can help to reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes, as it helps to expand the arteries, which increases blood flow to the heart.
- Research has shown the black tea can be used in the fight against cancer. Properties of the tea slow down the growth of cancerous cells without destroying healthy cells.
- Tea is also believed to help to delay the aging process. Nowadays there are many anti aging creams and lotions that contain tea extracts to help the skin look younger.
- Drinking black tea can help to burn fat and speed up metabolism. This makes it an ideal drink for those who are looking to lose weight, or who exercise regularly.
- Drinking tea such as black and green tea helps to reduce bad cholesterol and increases good cholesterol.
- Tea contains fluoride, which can help to prevent tooth decay by strengthening tooth enamel. (I personally believe fluoride to be dangerous, and even though tea does contain a small amount of fluoride, you can minimize this by buying young organic tea, and steeping for only 2 minutes or less)
- For those people with diabetes, drinking tea can help to decrease glucose levels, which can reduce the risk of cataracts, and other conditions brought about by diabetes.
- Investigations have shown that the benefits of black tea are lessened when milk is added. So, in order to take advantage of the amazing health benefits of this tea, it's recommended that you don't take your tea with milk or sugar.

#8 Tea contains fluoride, which can help to prevent tooth decay by strengthening tooth enamel.
Didn’t you recently post about the dangers of fluoride?
Jason Cairns | Jul 29, 2009 | Reply
Clay…I did write about the dangers of fluoride, which I personally believe to be true. The biggest danger is the amount of fluoride we consume since it’s in our water. Writing this article I continually came across tons of research from very reputable sources that I trust linking the fluoride in tea to improved tooth strength. Does that mean I’m pro fluoride…absolutely not. I think fluoride does help prevent tooth decay, but so do a bunch of natural alternative.
I’m a HUGE tea fan and I continually get emails regarding the fluoride in tea. I thought I should mention this in the article.
I really appreciate you commenting about it, I was expecting more people to say something. Really appreciate your support! Cheers!

Wow. I was really surprised by this article. I really though before that green tea was the best.. and black tea was the worst of them all..probably because of the color? Hahahaha. Well, having read all these, I will surely recommend diabetics to sip black tea after meals.
However, are there any reports of hypoglycemia among Black Tea drinkers? How about liver failure?
Thanks. Good luck!

Diabetes may finally have a cure through extensive stem cell research. But for now, diabetes can only be managed by drugs or food supplements that controls blood sugar. I take Alpha Lipoic acid and Chromium because they are helpful in regulating blood sugar.

I am a type 2 diabetic. Up until three weeks ago, I was drinking coffee on a regular basis in the morning until one day I said, “I’m not addicted to coffee so why drink it”. My endocrinologist told me that coffee can affect your blood sugar…so….I went to the store and bought tea….Black Tea….I just thought I would be good. I drank it for one week and noticed that my blood sugar was pretty low in the mornings upon awaking…63, 67, even 47!!! Well, I kind of put 2 and 2 together. I researched it and lo and behold!!!….I found out it’s benefits. I thought it was just a fluke, but now, two weeks later, my blood sugars are well within range of normal!!! I’m hoping this lasts..because if so, this means I can cut down on my use of insulin. I even ate a crossant and my blood sugar was normal!!! WoooWhoo!!!!
